DO YOU HAVE A LOCAL EXEMPT FIREMEN’S ASSOCIATION?
Check the list of Local Associations. If your municipality is not listed you may want to follow the simple process outlined below to form an association
HOW DO YOU FORM A LOCAL EXEMPT FIREMEN’S ASSOCIATION?
Step #1 requires that you have at least ten (10) exempt members in order to form a local exempt association.
Step #2 is to hold your first local exempt organization meeting to elect your officers. As soon as you elect your officers, you need to fill out the incorporation paperwork for the State of New Jersey and submit this paperwork with the application fee to our (N.J. State Exempt Firemen’s Association) Record Keeper William Egbert 25 Little Lane in Wharton, N. J. 07885, phone 973.366.6835. William will in turn file the paperwork for you with the State of New Jersey and act as your registered agent. By having William act as your registered agent, you insure that the incorporation status of your organization does not lapse and possibly place you out of accord with the N. J. State Firemen’s Association and not be able to seat your exempt delegate in Wildwood. It also saves you the trouble of changing your address with the state every time you change officers.
Step #3. Once you are incorporated with the State of New Jersey, your formal application to become a member of the New Jersey State Exempt Firemen’s Association can be processed. Again, our Record Keeper William Eagbert will assist you with this process.
